Best Cooling Sheets for Hot Sleepers

I have tried many cooling products from many companies. In my opinion the best cooling sheets for any kind of hot sleeper are Rest’s Evercool Cooling Sheets or Silvery’s Restcool Sheets.

But one hurdle that cooling sheets have had to tackle is their slipperiness. This was something that initially gave me pause when recommending Rest’s cooling sheet set years ago. Even when I tried Silvery’s cooling sheets, this same problem persisted. I guess there’s something about the fabric to get it as cool as possible just causes it to be slippery.

However Rest recently updated their cooling sheets to try to address this exact issue.

Cooling Sheets Slipperiness

One of the most common problems that I encounter with cooling sheets is the slipperiness. When the top sheet and fitted sheet are used together, it’s a frictionless mess.

When I first tried Rest’s Evercool Cooling Sheets back in 2022, I remember fluffing the top sheet out and it just levitated on top of the fitted sheet and ended up on the floor.

Even after getting it on the bed with a duvet on top, somewhere in the middle of the night the top sheet would just end up bunched at the bottom of the bed. Or worse – it would just slide the duvet right off the top and onto the floor.

Now although Rest encourages hot sleepers to not use a top sheet in conjunction with their Evercool Cooling Comforter, I needed to see for myself. So for this Rest review, I decided to use the Evercool Cooling Sheet Set in three different sleeping scenarios:

• with the Evercool Cooling Comforter
• with a fleece blanket
• and on its own with no blanket on top.

I wanted to test it’s effectiveness in every kind of summer night scenario.

Now let’s review to see if these really are the best cooling sheets for hot sleepers.

Cooling effect

Paired with the Evercool Cooling Comforter, the cooling sheets did not add anything extra for hot sleepers to be cooled down with. So if you opt to just do the cooling comforter and no top sheet, the cooling effect would be if the same if you did have the top sheet.

Paired with a fleece blanket, I felt that the cooling effect was still pretty powerful. Obviously I was a little less cool than with using the Evercool Cooling Comforter. So if you want a cool night without it being too cool, this could be a good option.

By itself, it almost felt like nothing at all. It did add more of a cooling effect than sleeping with nothing on you. But I would say it’s just a step above that in coolness.

So overall I would say that it doesn’t matter the situation. Using this will be cooler for your hot summer nights.

Fit

The fitted sheet fit great. The previous version of the fitted sheet did have a corner strap for extra security. I did appreciate that, but it was not a deal breaker that the updated version did not have them.

But more so for this Rest review, I am very pleased that they made their pillowcases smaller. The first version had so much excess material that it was infuriating. I love that they sized it down to a more appropriate length.

Feel of the cooling sheets set

One of the reasons I believe that Rest makes the best cooling sleep products is because of the fabric. It’s smooth and doesn’t catch. Even tiny little kittens claws don’t cause the fabric to pill.

Also when my feet are feeling dry, sometimes I don’t like the feel of “normal” bed sheets on my feet. It feels kind of scratchy. However Rest’s cooling sheets don’t give me that uncomfortable feeling.

As such, I am happy that they continue to use this same fabric as it truly is so comfortable, breathable, and moisture-wicking.

Stability on bed

First, I am thrilled to report that the Evercool Cooling Sheets did have a little more friction to them then the previous version. When I fluffed out the top sheet on top of the fitted sheet, it didn’t go sliding right off.

Overnight when paired with Evercool Cooling Comforter, I did experience some slipping. But it was minimal and didn’t seem too extensive or annoying.

Paired with a fleece blanket, I saw even less slipping compared to using it with the cooling comforter.

By itself it was essentially its own blanket. So the only real movement that occurred was from me just kicking it around or rolling up in it.

Having addressed the slipperiness, these cooling sheets from Rest definitely are a 5 star product. More so, they are the best cooling sheets for hot sleepers. So the fact that this product alone has more than 5,000 reviews saying the same thing does not suprise me.

Optional to add the flat sheet with the Evercool. But I don’t think it necessarily adds any extra cooling effect. I do love using the flat sheet instead as a couch blanket!
