Reviewing Popular Cooling Comforters

Without me knowing, I have somehow become the go-to girl for cooling comforter reviews. Probably because I reviewed one cooling comforter and that content went viral – OOPS. And now my inbox is full of brands asking me to give my audience my honest opinion. Well, I hope they know what they are asking for. Because I will give my full input so that you can make the best possible decision.

REST Evercool Comforter Review

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Price (Twin to King): $139-$174, price may fluctuate based on sales and discounts

The Evercool cooling comforter from Rest has been a top product on the market. I have used mine for three years now and is the bar in which cooling comforters are set at for me.

My husband is a very hot sleeper. When we got this comforter, there was a huge difference. Both of us slept better and I didn’t really notice how much heat he was radiating.

More recently, I have used this comforter during my pregnancy while my body was heating up more and it provided great comfort. I already had to deal with getting subpar sleep – I didn’t also need to deal with waking up because I was too hot.

Both sides are super soft and have a great cooling effect. Even when we initially unboxed the comforter, it felt like the comforter had been sitting in the fridge beforehand.

Not only do I enjoy how soft and cool it is, the blanket doesn’t pill and doesn’t snag easily on anything. For example, when we had a cat who liked making biscuits on this comforter, her tiny little claws never snagged. And it never caused the blanket’s threading to be pulled.

We have since gotten one for each of us since my husband likes to cocoon himself in his own blanket. Plus our husky loves laying on it too.

Silvery Cooling Comforter

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Price (Twin to King): $130-$150, price may fluctuate based on sales and discounts

Not a super hot sleeper but still want a good product? The Silvery Cooling Comforter will work great for you!

Although the Evercool from Rest has one more star on this comforter, I would personally prefer to use Silvery because I am not as hot of a sleeper as my husband. So the SIlvery’s cooling effect is perfect for me and my ideal sleeping temperature.

The fabric is similar to that of the Evercool – it’s still soft, but more prone to wrinkles.

I believe the Silvery is priced perfectly for the price-to-quality ratio.

ELEGEAR Arc Chill Cooling Blanket Review

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Price (Twin to King): $35-$56, price may fluctuate based on sales and discounts

I am pleasantly surprised by this comforter’s price-to-quality ratio.

The Arc Chill 3.0 Cooling Comforter from Elegear on Amazon has one side that is cooling fabric, and the other side is knitted fabric. Similar to the Evercool, the cooling fabric side is very slick and smooth, and does not pill or snag. The fabric side is one that I would imagine if the cat was making biscuits on, she would pull some threads with her sharp claws.

This comforter is good if you would prefer a comforter that can be used more effectively all year around. As opposed to the Evercool from Rest where it’s the best for staying cool in summer, but may be a tad chilly to use in the winter.

I do prefer the Elegear Arc Chill as our couch blanket though because in the day I use the cooling side, and at night I cuddle up with the knitted side.

The reason I give it 3.5 stars is because as a cooling blanket, both sides should have that same cooling effect.

Overall though, I think you really are getting an effective product for the price.

ZONLI Bamboo Cooling Comforter Review

Zonli Home bamboo cooling comforter review

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Price (Twin to King): $89-$119, price may fluctuate based on sales and discounts

Similar to the Elegear blanket, the Zonli Bamboo Cooling Comforter has one side that is drastically more cool than the other. However on their website, Zonli does say that both sides have a cooling effect. I personally did not feel as though that was the case.

The side that is more textured felt like it was the cooling side. Whereas the other side just felt like regular knitted fabric. Unlike the Rest and Elegear products though, the cooling side wasn’t that silky, smooth fabric. Since I keep using the cat as an example here, if the cat had been making biscuits on the cooling side, I feel as though her claws would have pulled threads.

You can even tell by the picture above from their website, that both sides are much more “knitted” in material than the smooth, cooling sides of Rest or Elegear.

Additionally, the solid colored side’s fabric was pretty wrinkled when I got it. Even after washing and drying it, the wrinkles never truly came out.

Lastly, I don’t feel as if the Zonli bamboo comforter really had any stronger effects than the Elegear. So although this was a more expensive product than the Arc Chill from Elegear, I rate this one lower.

The reason I am giving this 2.5 stars is because I didn’t think the cooling effect was that strong for the price. Furthermore, the fabric isn’t really moisture-wicking compatible compared to other cooling comforters that I have reviewed. Additionally, I don’t like that fabric is very wrinkle-prone.

Final thoughts

These cooling comforter reviews are all subject to personal preference though. Especially when it comes to how you prefer to keep your AC at night. Personally, I keep our AC in the low 70s at night, so we prefer having a more elevated cooling comforter experience with the Evercool from Rest.

However during the day, our downstairs gets very chilly at the same temperature. “Hot air rises, cold air sinks” as they say! So keeping either the Elegear Arc Chill or the Zonli Bamboo Comforter as a couch blanket is more suitable.
