Let’s review what AmazingCo has to offer, the details of the Mystery Picnics, and my honest review of my experience doing their picnic in La Jolla with my husband.

Amazing Co offers a few different experiences for couples, families, and friends to do together. They also offer experiences to do from the comfort of your home if you want a fun night in!

Their most popular package is their Mystery Picnic Couple dates, but they also offer Mystery Weekends, Family Adventures, and various party experiences and challenges. Prices and availability will vary based on experience as well as location.

They are currently hosting experiences in 50 cities throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. They have big plans to get to over 500 cities! And it looks like their expansion is happening pretty quickly with 7 more experiences coming to the San Diego area, and 5 more experiences coming to the Los Angeles area very soon.

Price and Details of Mystery Picnic Dates

There are two ways to experience their Mystery Picnics – Standard or Premium. Additionally prices will vary by city. The Standard picnic price starts at $150 and includes a:

• Pre-planned itinerary and self-guided discovery
• Pre-booked and paid food and experiences
• Clues and games for the experience

The Premium picnic price starts at $198 and includes the same as the above, in addition to extra treats and/or at-home experiences.

AmazingCo does not provide any “picnic essentials” for you, other than the food and drinks. That being said, you will need to bring:

• A cooler and ice pack
• Cutlery, glasses/cups, and plates
• A blanket
• A pen and paper to solve your riddles

Our AmazingCo Experience – Mystery Picnic Date Review

My husband and I were recently invited by AmazingCo to experience one of their Standard Mystery Picnics in La Jolla, California. You can find this package listed under their San Diego activities.

We started the experience while still at home as we needed to solve the first clue to find out where in La Jolla we were heading to first. But soon after solving it, we were on our way!

In total there were 6 clues and 4 stops for picnic food.

Since the picnic was for the La Jolla location, we knew that our day of fun would be specific to this location. Each stop we had was within a very short driving distance of each other. Yes, it would have been possible to walk to each different location. But that would have been too much to carry for us.

Each riddle was simple enough to solve on our own. But if for any reason we couldn’t figure it out, there was a hint to use for each clue as well as just revealing the location if you really couldn’t solve it.

We did have one hiccup with one clue, but I think that’s just because the clue itself wasn’t exactly clear. We solved the riddle that they gave which was one word, but the location was two words. Because of this, we did have to reveal the answer since we didn’t know what the second word was supposed to be since that wasn’t a part of the clue.

Final Thoughts on the Mystery Picnic Date Review

This is a great idea for people who don’t know how to plan an epic date such as this. It’s also a great way to be able to explore a your hometown or even a new city while on vacation!

Additionally, along the way with the clues, it gives you other spots to check out in the area. So even though my husband and I are both from San Diego, it gave us an opportunity to explore a little more. The experience allows for time to stop at other sites along your adventure, including the tide pools, and we spent some time looking at the sea creatures. Which is more ideal than just solving a clue, going to a location; solving a clue, going to a location.

Since this experience is at your own pace, you can do more exploring or more stops along with way. And then pick up the clues were you left off. In the end, we spent about 3 hours solving clues, picking up our supplies, making extra stops along the way, and enjoying lunch beachside.

Overall, both of us were very impressed by the experience. I believe it’s worth the price tag. Not just for the fact that you do get a decent amount of food to share, but it takes all the actual planning out of the occasion. In short, our review of the AmazingCo Mystery Picnic dates is a positive one.

This Mystery Picnic Date makes for a great opportunity for couples to have some fun, get to know each other some more, and explore an area you may or may not already know. Not to mention, it’s a perfect activity once the weather starts brightening in spring!
