The Perfect Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe

Are you struggling to create a perfect fall travel wardrobe capsule this year? Fall requires you to dress up warm and flaunt your fancy jackets. You may be tempted to carry all of your fancy fall outfits. But your wardrobe only has limited space! So what do you need to pack?

What is a travel capsule wardrobe?

Simply put, a travel capsule wardrobe are clothes that will never go out of style. Otherwise known as having a staple closet. You could put these items into a time capsule and if someone opened it decades later, they would still be in style. They usually involve solid colors, classic prints, and simple structure.

Putting together a travel capsule is a daunting task. It challenges you to only pack essential pieces of your wardrobe into a limited space. However, his doesn’t mean that you should compromise on your style!

Creating Your Travel Capsule

Your travel capsule should consist of simple yet sophisticated pieces of clothing that complement each other. Don’t forget, you’ll need clothing, accessories, and footwear. Take a look at your wardrobe and pick all fall-friendly outfits. Plaid, slouchy, or earth-colored items will be what you are looking for. You can always shop for ideal pieces if your wardrobe still lacks the fall style. The trick is to shop for your pieces on wholesale clothing websites. You get the best deals for your wholesale boutique clothing as the prices are comparatively lower.

So let’s create a practical fall travel capsule wardrobe!

Here are the essential pieces that you should include in your travel capsule wardrobe.

1. Tops

Your travel wardrobe capsule should contain the following essential top colors.

  • White
  • Black tee
  • Hunter green
  • Mauve

You can never go wrong with a black or white tee for any day, any outfit kind of looks. Plain tees are easy to style and match. But be sure to add hunter green and mauve into the mix. You will help to compliment the beauty of fall even more with these two colors!

If your travel spans longer than expected, add a black long sleeve tee to your capsule.

2. A Jacket

Nothing screams sophistication more than a well-fitted and cozy jacket. For your travel capsule wardrobe, you’re only going to include one jacket as you need to save on space. So it has to be a staple of a jacket! Include either a solid black, or a brown plaid jacket. These two options have always stood the test of time for fall!

3. A Pair of Leggings

Leggings are great as they can be included with many outfits. Whether that be under a skirt or under a big, slouchy sweatshirt. Leggings are also comfy and cozy, making them ideal for travel. Pack a pair of light tan or black leggings to go in your fall travel capsule wardrobe. And since they are relatively small, you may even consider bringing both colors with you!

4. A Pair of Jeans

Jeans are probably one the most versatile pieces of clothing you can own! You can dress them up or dress them down with ease. White, blue, or khaki jeans are a great addition to your travel capsule wardrobe. But if you’re low on space, keep it to a pair of distressed blue jeans.

5. Shoes

The shoes make the outfit, so make them good picks! The absolute must styles are a pair of formal heels, a pair of sneakers or other casual, no-heeled shoe, and a pair of boots or booties. The colors you should consider getting are black, brown, and one patterned pair of shoes. This could mean cheetah or leopard print, camo, a shoe with a graphic on it, or even textured like a cowboy boot. Fall involves a lot of solid colors and layers. Having a pair of printed shoes can break up that monotony and also add pizzazz to your outfit!

6. A Sweatshirt

Slouchy sweatshirts are your best friend in fall. You will need:

  • a knitted sweatshirt
  • a colorblock sweatshirt with fall colors in it like brown, rust, or green
  • a thinner, turtleneck sweatshirt

Colors should be up to your personal preference! All of these options should be able to wear under a jacket if it gets a little colder. There is a lot of layering to do in fall!

7. A Scarf

A scarf is another way to add printed or textured colors to your outfit. If everything else is solid colored, even down to your shoes, a scarf can be that last piece of the puzzle for your outfit. Although infinity scarves are the easiest to get on and off, unfortunately they would not make it in a capsule wardrobe. They have come in and out of being in style for awhile. Instead you will want to stick wit the traditional two-ended scarves.

You should get one cream colored scarf, and at least two different pattern-printed scarves.

Are Glasses from Pair Eyewear Worth the Hype?

If your Tik Tok ads are anything like mine, then maybe you have seen an ad or two from Pair Eyewear. And if you haven’t heard of them, then you absolutely need to! This review of the interchangeable glasses from Pair Eyewear will definitely change up your perception of wearing glasses on the daily.

Out with the old…

One of the reasons that I won’t get a tattoo is because once it’s there, it’s there forever. I am not really a fan of that level of permanence when it comes to what I put on my body. That also includes my personal fashion and the accessories that follow.

Usually when I purchase glasses, I get the style that I can wear with almost anything. That’s not exactly fun because not every pair of glasses will work with every outfit. And I am not buying multiple pair of prescription glasses for the sake of being able to change them out for one outfit.

And in with the new interchangeable glasses from Pair!

honest review of Pair Eyewear glasses

Enter Pair Eyewear to the sponsored ads that get pushed to my feed every day. (Seriously Pair, are you spending all of your ad dollars on getting your content in front of my face?)

What drew me to their brand was the fact that they had these magnetic top frames that you could place on top of your prescription glasses. The top frames were listed at about $25 a piece for most. That’s a heck of a lot cheaper than buying all new glasses.

I also wanted to get blue light filtering glasses since I spend so much time staring at screens. Pair was the first brand that I found that did this for prescription lens!

How much does Pair Eyewear cost?

I bought the crystal clear Casper prescription frames for $60. I added on blue-light filtering for an additional $49. And because I wanted a way to jazz up my frames, I also purchased a Spider-Man top frame for $30 and a Silver Sparkle frame for $25. I was also able to use a referral code from Pair Eyewear that gave me $25 off of my first order with them! This coupon is only good as long as your order is over $85 before the coupon is applied.

In total, I spent $150 after the coupon and taxes for my Pair Eyewear order! For purchasing glasses, this is an incredible price.

Overall, I adore these glasses and the interchangeable frames. I have even purchased two more frames since my first order: giraffe spots frames and a sunglass topper! I really enjoy being able to easily go from outside to inside without having to change out my glasses. With my glasses from Pair Eyewear, I can just take my sunglasses top frame off and I’m good!

I highly recommend switching to Pair the next time you are considering getting new glasses.

The Spoopiest Halloween Clothing of 2022

The Spoopiest Halloween Clothing for 2022

Halloween is definitely becoming a holiday that requires a wardrobe haul. Whether you like the haunts and scares or the cute and spoopy, there’s something for everything during the Halloween season. Here are some great stores to get the best halloween clothing merchandise from in 2022.

Click the header to be directed to each shop’s full Halloween section!

Following the links listed on this page will allow me to receive a small commission from any purchase’s made on those sites. Using my links do not increase your overall purchase price.

Pink Lily

One of my favorite boutique shops is Pink Lily. They always keep their catalog fresh with each season! Their spooky season collection is no exception. With comfy shirts, oversized sweaters, and trendy prints, they’ll be sure to put you in the Halloween spirit.

Unique Vintage

Look to the first word of the store’s name for the best way to describe it. Yup – UNIQUE. You won’t find another store like it. The styles are classy, high-quality, and perfect for your favorite fashion era. Not to mention, Unique Vintage is especially helpful for finding something for Dapper Day at Disney.

Her Universe

The Halloween season definitely brings out a special kind of obsession in the average Disney adult. One of the best places to shop for all the best merch outside of the park is Her Universe! Don’t let the name fool you though – there are plenty of unisex options.

Target

I think we all know now that Target comes out with some pretty awesome graphic shirts. The prints range from play-on words, funny puns, and Disney! There’s something for everyone’s casual or comfy preferences.

Box Lunch

Box Lunch might not be the most well-known store, but it is bringing some great picks to the halloween clothing 2022 line-up! I am loving the tees that have back prints in particular. Any of these would be perfect for the Disney Halloween parties.

how to update my wardrobe on a budget

How to Update My Wardrobe on a Budget

There are a lot of clothing companies out there, but not all of them are budget-friendly. Not to mention if they do end up being affordable, you may be compromising quality for that price. Here are four resources for how to update your wardrobe on a budget

Thrift stores

I update my wardrobe on a budget with thrift shopping
My favorite thrift store in Escondido has helped me find cute things like Disney Spirit Jerseys!

By no shock to anyone, shopping at thrift stores is convenient, local to you, and very affordable. We are also living in an age of VERY fast fashion. It’s so fast that I can’t even keep up. But the great thing about fast fashion is that it turns up in thrift stores even faster. That being said, if you don’t mind being a little being the latest trend, thrift store shopping will be your best friend.

Not to mention, shopping at thrift stores is HIGHLY sustainable. By shopping preowned items you are reducing the amount of water it takes to make a new piece of clothing, reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, and reusing perfectly good items. Talk about eco-friendly!

Thrift store shopping has been my personal number one way to update my wardrobe on a budget.

Sell What You Don’t Need

Powerful Disney Bound of Marvel's Captain Marvel Carol Danvers
I made this entire Captain Marvel outfit solely off of purchases from Poshmark!

Poshmark and Mercari are bringing preowned item shopping online! Now, there are still plenty of thrift stores that you can purchase from online. But these two apps have the added bonus of allowing you to sell your items that you no longer want. Donating to thrift stores is great, don’t get me wrong. However, some items still retain a high value rate. And what better way to expense your next purchase than by selling some items first to make it happen.

I have used Poshmark before to create amazing Disney Bounds. The ability to search the app for the EXACT thing that I need and in the size that I wear is just not something I can do at a thrift store. Plus I also sold lots of items on the app and turned around to use those funds to buy items through the app. Overall a great experience and again, all the same sustainability advantages!

Also think about clearing out your old jewelry too. It may be a great way to grab a little bit of extra income. You might want to sell your diamonds or old necklaces that just aren’t your style anymore. You jewelry box is sure to feel less crowded, and even better, your purse will be heavier too!

Clothes swap

Do you have stylish friends? What about a sibling or two? Or a parent that is looking to get rid of something in their closet? GOOD! Then that means you now have access to calling dibs on items that they may want to give up!

Let your friends and family know that if they plan on giving anything away to let you know first. Tell them that you would love to look through their items to see if there is anything that you would like. I know that I definitely have a few friends who have pieces in their wardrobe that I would love to snag if given the opportunity. Odds are they will definitely let you riffle through anything they plan on giving away.

Update your wardrobe on a budget by doing a clothes swap
This rainbow top is courtesy of my friend letting me borrow from her closet!

But remember to be courteous. Always offer to buy the pieces from them. Don’t assume that they will give it to you for free.

PROTIP: You can even ask your friend if you can just borrow that piece that you’ve been eyeing! For someone like me who has a very stylish best friend who is also a content creator, she knows that sometimes I just want to borrow something from her closet for a picture and a post. Odds are she gets it back right after the photoshoot. See? There are so many ways to update your wardrobe on a budget.

Reduce your new wardrobe purchases

Now even after trying to incorporate preowned items into your wardrobe, there will still be times of wanting something brand spanking new. And that’s fine! Keeping to a budget does not mean that you can’t ever treat yourself. It simply means that you plan your budget with that purchase in mind.

So if you can’t reuse, then reduce! When you go through making your purchases for new items, try your best to reduce the amount you buy. Especially if it’s fast fashion. I know that I put together Disney Bounds through the massive catalog that is Shein, and part of that reason is because I can show you items that are easily accessible. But I still encourage you to treat those videos and outfit collages as inspiration. Then take that inspiration to the thrift store or onto Poshmark.

I have used all of these ways listed here to update my wardrobe on a budget. And you can update your wardrobe in a very sustainable way too!
